Editorial and Packaging Design
As both the designer and writer, I created the cover and an exclusive slipcase for Society Now, a fictional magazine that focuses on societal impact in the Midlands of the United Kingdom. By conducting interviews with private sector care workers at the time of the pandemic, I gathered valuable insights that formed the basis of my article, titled "Getting Clear on Care."

The article discusses the care crisis that was developing and the decline of the private sector workforce that magnified this. To highlight the urgency and chaos surrounding these issues, I drew inspiration from Jamie Reid's controversial Sex Pistols artwork. I used its energy in the design of their editorial to express the contrast between the actual state of the sector and the way care homes wanted to portray it.

The slipcase aided this image by showing the before and after photos of an abandoned care home, which was revealed when taking the magazine out.
